Auction site dedicated to jewellery and watches first of its kind.
A new online initiative called InstantLuxe has been launched, allowing consumers to buy and sell their luxury jewellery online at affordable prices.
Described as the first and only dedicated, secure online buyer-seller platform for authentic pre-owned designer luxury jewellery in the UK and France, InstantLuxe will offer consumers access to thousands of products, including watches, jewellery and accessories from international luxury brands, including Cartier, Chanel, Dior, Hermes and Louis Vuitton.
To ensure that all the goods sold are geniune and valued correctly, InstantLuxe works with a team of certified independent professional valuers and each buyer receives a certificate of authenticity and an InstantLuxe seal with their purchase.
Yann Le Floc’h, chief executive and co-founder of the site said: "Until now, consumers who want to buy second-hand luxury branded products online really only have online auction websites to go to. With these they have no independent guarantee whether the product is genuine or not and “authenticity” is based on other users’ opinion, so consumers often run the risk of buying a counterfeit or an item at less-than-average quality."
“Now they don’t have to. With the InstantLuxe brand consumers are guaranteed the authentic article, not to mention in good, if not new, condition", he added.
Once a buyer or seller has registered, they can place numerous advertisements for their pre-owned authentic luxury items online free of charge. Buyers search for and buy the products and once the sale has been made, the vendor sends it to InstantLuxe who verifies the authenticity of the product. If authentic, it is sent onto the buyer with a certificate of authenticity and the InstantLuxe seal. If the product is deemed to be a counterfeit, the buyer is refunded the entire sum of the purchase.
Buyers also have the option to place an ad requesting a particular product, if their desired product cannot be seen online.
The site is similar in concept to the Perpetuelle watchXchange launched earlier this year, which utilises a similar set-up to allow consumers to buy and sell luxury watches.
