Mayor of Camden says Treasure was breathtaking in its size and range.

Mayor of Camden Jonathan Simpson said Treasure exhibition proved that London Jewellery Week was on its way to becoming as high profile as London Fashion Week.

The Mayor spoke and presented awards at the exhibition. He told Professional Jeweller that he was very excited by the size and scale of the event, which launched last Thursday.

“I am staggered by the size of the exhibition,” Simpson said. “It’s absolutely breathtaking the amount of exhibits that are going on, the range obviously right the way through from a major operator in the UK right to some of the small businesses that are here.”

The Mayor claimed he felt the event was growing in prominence and could eventually achieve the same degree of prestige enjoyed by London Fashion Week.

He said: “Obviously, the aim is to make it on a par with London fashion week and I think events like this really just show that it’s on its way to be that way.”

He added: “I think it’s really exciting and I feel very, very privileged to be here.”
