Silver jewellery brand using Twitter trending as marketing tool.
Meadow Jewellery, a brand owned and distributed by CL Edwards, is utilising Twitter for a new marketing drive in which it will give away six silver pendants every Monday.
The brand has launched #meadowmonday, a competition that makes used of hash tags, something that normally depicts a trend, common saying or theme on the social networking site.
CL Edwards is using Twitter to drive attention to the brand and hopes that the use of a hash tag will get its followers re-tweeting the give-away and thus increasing its chances to engage with new clients or consumers. It will also use Facebook to drive the campaign.
Craig Skinner, head of marketing at CL Edwards said: “Every Monday Meadow Jewellery is giving away six pendants to our Twitter and Facebook followers via our new promotion #MeadowMonday.
“[It is] simple to enter: Meadow followers just need to re-tweet us on Twitter or ‘Like’ us on Facebook to be in with a chance of winning their choice of Meadow pendants.”
The brand is also encouraging its UK stockists to get involved with the promotion and says it is a “great way to spread the word about Meadow Jewellery”.
It has also offered to reciprocate any retailer’s individual in-store promotions involving Meadow Jewellery, saying it will promote these via its own social media channels and alongside the #meadowmonday competition.
Simone Brooke, director of Happy Creative, the marketing company overseeing the competition, has said the response has already driven hits and led to sales.
"The #MeadowMonday campaign is proving to be popular with customers across the UK [and] Meadow have given away 18 pendants in March already with more to follow.
"We’ve seen a large increase in traffic to the Meadow Website, also the Meadow social media channels have see a leap with Twitter followers and interactions up over 2000%, and Facebook likes and activity up 130%," he added.
There are 6 winners every Monday, they are able to select their favourite from the entire Meadow range. Their prize is delivered in a full presentation box ready to wear.
The brand sells individual silver tags decorated with flowers and insects that can be mixed and matches in the same style as charm bead bracelets.
