Jewellery retailer Mococo has relocated its Chester store from St Michael’s Row within Grosvenor Shopping Centre to a more prominent location within the city centre of Chester.
The new flagship store for the family-run retailer is located on the corner of Foregate Street, a short distance away from Chester’s famous Eastgate clock and will also feature a first floor training suite.
The store expansion increases floor space from 400 sq ft to 1100 sq ft and allows the retailer to stock new brands for the first time, including internationally renowned Michael Kors jewellery, British nature-inspired designer Alex Monroe alongside Spanish fashion favourite Uno de 50 jewellery.
The new brands are a welcome addition to Mococo’s popular designer ranges including Pandora, Thomas Sabo, ChloBo and Clogau.
Mococo’s e-commerce website was redeveloped at the end of 2014 following a 314% increase in web sales. Mococo opened its sixth store within Pyramids Shopping Centre Birkenhead in September 2014, joining a portfolio of stores in Chester, Liverpool, Wrexham, Ruthin, Mold and the Pandora concept store in Wigan’s Grand Arcade Shopping Centre.
Plans for Mococo’s eighth store are on track for a September 2015 opening, as the family run company has reported trading 36% up on last year with like for like sales showing a 19% increase.
Speaking about the relocation of the Chester store, managing director of Mococo, Lee Hooson, said: “Mococo has attracted some of the biggest names in the fashion jewellery industry and our Chester store expansion allows us to offer so much more to the many shopping tourists who visit Chester for the retail experience. Our new Chester store is a sign of our continued commitment and investment in the world’s leading designer jewellery brands, offering an enhanced shopping experience with much more browsing space and additional jewellery collections.”
The new Chester store also boasts large video wall window displays, and shop-in-shops for Thomas Sabo, ChloBo, Clogau and new brand Uno de 50. Mococo’s Chester store now hosts Daisy London’s largest shop-in-shop anywhere in the UK. Additional services provided by Mococo will feature as standard with luxury fragranced gift wrap, Mococo chocolates and an inter-store courier service to ensure each customer’s request is catered for.
Maureen Hooson, founder and managing director at Mococo, said: “Mococo has been built on a culture of impeccable service and client care. Our loyal customers, and the brands we represent, love our style of personal service and have been instrumental in our growth and upsurge in popularity.
“Our new Chester store is a beautiful place for customers to indulge in our signature collections including Pandora, Thomas Sabo and ChloBo. The expansion means we are able to showcase a wider variety of affordable designer jewellery brands and we are really looking forward to bringing new and exciting collections from Michael Kors, Alex Monroe and Uno de 50 to Mococo.”
