Mouawad creates in-house certification service

Owners of brand’s high jewellery can view images and photos of pieces.

High jewellery brand Mouawad has launched its own online authentication service for its jewellery called the Mouawad Certification of Authenticity (COA).

The service allows owners of Mouawad jewellery to check the origin and full details of the piece they own by entering a special reference number for the item, found either on their receipt or in some cases engraved on the item itself.

The COA information includes a picture and description of the item, details of the collection the piece comes from, as well as authentication of the gemstones and precious materials used such as the type of stone, metals and carat weights.

The head of Mouawad’s retail division Pascal Mouawad said: "Since taking the helm at Mouawad, we have been committed to developing and harnessing leading industry technologies that benefit our clientèle.

"The Mouawad Certificate of Authenticity allows our patrons to verify any pieces they own with just one click, giving them the reassurance and guarantee that they are indeed handcrafted by Mouawad ."

At present Mouawad operates 16 retail outlets across the world. The brand is in the process of expanding its presence in the Gulf region with new generation boutiques recently opened in Kuwait City, Doha and Muscat.
