Model-turned entrepreneur launches online jewellery boutique
Nineteen-year-old Amber Atherton has launched new designer jewellery boutique My Flash Trash, in her first year of study at London College of Fashion.
Described as "fabulous urban luxe jewellery", Atherton’s venture into jewellery retail began at boarding school in Hong Kong, where she bought and sold pieces she found while travelling around the world.
Today, from her base in London, Atherton is devoting her time to the site, while signed to Premier Model and studying at London College of Fashion.
My Flash Trash, which Atherton describes as "still in its early stages", sells jewellery from international designers including Alexander Davis, Pebble London, Silver Service and Tach. The jewellery featured on the site has already gained press coverage, and the site last year won a coveted listing in Tatler’s Little Black Book.
Atherton also works on My Flash Trash TV, a behind-the-scenes look at parties and fashion weeks, alongside her blog which focuses on goings on in the fashion and jewellery industries.
