Jewellery Week shop to open tomorrow for a month.

Jessica de Lotz, Myia Bonner, The Jewellery Guild and Hayleigh-Joy have together won a pop-up shop space in Greenwich for a month, after entering a competition organised by Jewellery Week.

The Glittering Greenwich shop will open tomorrow and will run for a month, covering Jewellery Week, which itself launches on June 11.

The winners were selected by judging panel that included Greenwich-based designer and retailer Johnny Rocket, Greenwich jewellery shop owner Dorothy Thomas of Autumn and May, Victoria Purcell, editor of The Guide Magazine, and Della Tinsley, director of Jewellery Week 2012.

The shop, located at 7 Nelson Road in Greenwich, southeast London, will open tomorrow to catch shoppers heading to the historical town for the Jubilee weekend.

Rocket said of the competition: “The standard of jewellery design in the United Kingdom is the highest in the world and the competition is fiercest amongst the younger designers coming through at the moment.

“The three winners of the inaugural Glittering Greenwich competition can hold their heads proud and defiant amongst their peers- exceptional talents all three.”

Tinsley dubbed the Glittering Greenwich competition as a great opportunity for talented jewellers to create a unique shopping experience, especially at a time “when the world’s eyes are on London and the Royal Borough of
Greenwich”.
