Kotori owner Kate Johnson speaks of shock and anger at robbery.

A new Colchester jewellery shop has been raided just 10 days after opening.

Kotori, located at Portal’s Precinct on Sir Isaac’s Walk, was one of two businesses to be targeted on the same street on the same night. Thieves escaped with a laptop and cash.

The shop had been opened just days earlier by Kate Johnson and Barry Gough.

Johnson told local paper the Daily Gazette: “It was such a shock. It’s extra costs we didn’t need at this stage. I’ve worked hard to get this far. It does make me angry.”
