Design blog expands to watch retail and celebrates with pop up store
Celebrated design and architecture magazine and blog Deezen has launched a watch retail website specialising in unique, design-led pieces from across the globe.
The launch range features work by global talents including renowned British designer Michael Young, world renown fashion label Issey Miyake, classically minimalist Uniform Wares as well as pieces by boutique brands including Hong Kong’s VOID and London’s cult watch maker Mr Jones.
The easy to use website categorises its pieces by price, brand, characteristics or designer and showcases some of the most interesting and visually stunning timepieces available.
Marcus Fairs, editor-in-chief of Dezeen, said, “stories about watches are among the most popular on Dezeen, yet the watches we write about are hard to find. The founding principle behind our first ever retail venture was therefore to meet this explosion in interest and provide design aficionados with eye-catching watches by some of the world’s coolest
Dezeen Watch Store will gradually add new designs to its collections, aiming to become the leading global website for the fast-growing designer watch market.
To celebrate the launch, the collection will be shown at London’s vibrant new pop-up shop – The Temporium from 9 – 19 December at 221 Brompton Rd, London SW3 – one of London’s most prestigious shopping streets. The Watch Store installation will give visitors the chance to see and buy the watches first-hand for a short period of time.
