Jewellery box that can be used as a photo frame aims to reduce waste.
Design agency Parker Williams has created a bespoke jewellery box for fashion chain Oliver Bonas that can be transformed into a photo frame.
The waste-saving design initiative has been made for a range of handcrafted jewellery sold exclusively at Oliver Bonas stores. Each piece of jewellery in the retailer’s Ju Ju range is wrapped in a gift envelope, which once opened, transforms into a photo frame to display pictures complete with a choice of interchangeable message cards.
Parker Williams managing director Kate Bradford said: “The Ju Ju range represents a milestone in product packaging. Gone are the days where packaging’s sole purpose is to protect what’s inside. Of course, that is still very much its primary function but consumers want more than that. It needs to offer something different, something a little more experiential and that is exactly what the Ju Ju range does.”
The silver-coloured photo frame packaging design was printed with litho onto uncoated material. A matte film finish was then laminated on the front and back to complete the look.
Oliver Bonas creative buyer Helene Tsouloupas said: “We are delighted with the end result.”
