Young entrepreneur Camille Juras has launched a new online jewellery store targeting mums-to-be.

Launched early this year, TheGoodKarmaShop.co.uk is an online destination for the niche market of maternity jewellery.

Drawing on the ancient Indonesian tradition of women wearing chime pendants to style their bump and soothe their babies during pregnancy, the Good Karma Store offers a range of harmony ball pendants.

Worn like a necklace, the pendant rests low on the belly and creates a soft, harmonious chime when moved, which according to the founder babies start to hear and respond to from the 16-20th week of pregnancy.

The wide range comprises different collections, ranging from everyday classics featuring lucky charms and colourful tassels to more sophisticated, luxurious models such as the Limited Christmas edition or the Precious range, which showcases fresh water white pearls and Tahitian pearls.

Each pendant has been hand-crafted personally by Juras, who carefully selects the precious stones.

Every harmony ball pendant comes in a jewellery pouch with a story card explaining the tradition and benefit of the harmony ball chosen, and can also be personalised with engraving and a birth stone.

“I created The Good Karma Shop after I failed to find a pregnancy gift for my sister when she announced she was pregnant with her first child, explains founder Camille Juras. “I wanted to offer her something truly unique to mark this wonderful news.”

Juras continues: “I always liked jewellery and noticed that Indonesian women had a lovely tradition of wearing lucky charms for their pregnancy. I loved the idea of a precious necklace that will stay forever and that you will one day be able to transmit to your children for their own pregnancy – a new family heirloom in a way!”

Prices range from £35-£75.
