UK distributor quashes speculation arising about £21.9m purchase.

Fable Trading, the UK distributor of Trollbeads, has assured stockists that the bead brand’s deal with Pandora will not affect any future Trollbeads intellectual property rights.

The DKK190 million (£21.9m) financial transaction announced last week is related to a historic agreement that Trollbeads founder Lise Aagaard struck with the brand regarding intellectual property rights for past designs.

Fable Trading director Richard Morfoot said that speculation in the market had arisen that the deal was in relation to future designs, but states that this is not the case.

He said: "Lise Aagaard’s agreement with Pandora is historic and does not affect any future Trollbeads IP rights. Lise has been awarded payment for designs and guidance she provided to assist Pandora when the company first started. The agreement has no impact whatsoever on Trollbeads.

“This highlights the fact that Trollbeads is indeed the original charm bead jewellery brand and that it was Lise Aagaard as its founder who mastered the techniques for the original glass bead designs. Trollbeads is renowned for its originality and creates unique and highly individual bead designs exclusive to the brand.”
