New Oxford Street flagship to open in early September.
Pandora is set to open a brand new global flagship store on London’s Oxford Street next month, marking the largest Pandora concept store in the world.
The new store will be located in the brand new Park House building, between Bond Street stations and Marble Arch on what is the busiest shopping street in central London. Its opening is scheduled for the end of August.
The 200sqm retail space will be housed over two floors, designed by Grapes Associates, who have initiated a brand new style of Pandora store design, the first of its kind in the UK.
The first floor of the store will also be used for entertaining, with a unique sculptural meeting bar on the first floor, which will also form part of a wider VIP events space for press meetings, celebrity appointments and other special occasions.
Pandora president for Western Europe Peter Andersen said: "London is the fashion capital of the world and our global flagship store on Oxford Street will amplify our position in the market as a leading jewellery brand. We have wanted to open a Pandora global flagship store in London since the beginning and this is something we have been working towards for five years, we are very happy to have been able to realise our dream. The store will allow us to offer an unrivalled customer experience and will be a major attraction for shoppers from across the globe.”
The new store will be the 106th Pandora concept store to launch in the UK. Pandora currently operates a smaller concept store close to Oxford Circus, as well as a space in House of Fraser’s flagship department store on Oxford Street.
The brand’s chief executive Allan Leighton said: "Our Oxford Street store has been our plan for some time; we were uncompromising on location and store design. The finished article is something we are very proud and excited about. We want to offer our customers good quality jewellery at affordable prices in an aspirational setting and our flagship store achieves this. The UK business has accomplished a strong brand presence and a loyal following over the last five years and we feel this store represents the brand entering a new stage of its evolution.”
The opening follows the brand’s recent Q2 results, with the UK its strongest market in Europe with UK concept store sales up 11.6%.
Pandora last year opened its largest concept store in the Nordic region – an 80sqm space in Copenhagen, the capital city of its home country of Denmark.
The store is housed on pedestrianised street Strøget, described one of the busiest shopping streets in Denmark. At the time of the opening Pandora said the new store was in line with its strategy of focusing on branded sales channels by upgrading existing stores and opening new concept stores.
