The colour palette set to dominate the jewellery industry in SS18 features “unexpected” hues, reveals Pantone.
The global authority on colour and provider of professional colour standards for the design industries, Pantone LLC, has released the Pantone Fashion Colour Trend Report Spring 2018 edition ahead of London Fashion Week.
The report features the top colours the jewellery industry can expect to see from fashion designers on the runway for the upcoming spring collections. The company predicts, cherry tomato, palace blue, ash rose, Nile green, meadowlark, blooming dahlia, ultra violet, spiced apple and pink lavender, among others, to be prevalent colours across the coming season’s designs.
The report also includes four core classic shades: sailor blue, harbor mist, warm sand and coconut milk.
“Similar to New York Fashion Week trends, the Spring 2018 colour palette for London showcases an appreciation for the complexity and distinctiveness of colour as well as the appetite for expression through colour, which is something that evolves and can be played with,” shares Leatrice Eiseman, executive director, Pantone Color Institute.
“Consumers are looking for more colour variety. This expanded palette speaks to spontaneous colour usage and embraces the lack of gender and seasonal borders we are seeing embraced within the London fashion industry.”
This is the first time Pantone has incorporated 12 top colours and an additional four classic colours in its trend report. The expanded palette takes into consideration a noticed consumer desire for more variety and experimentation with colour and less structured fashion guidelines.
