Scottish retailer loses out on vital day’s trading in snow storm.
Scottish retailer Pebbles was forced to close its doors at the weekend as the weight of snow gathered on the roof caused the guttering to collapse.
The retailer’s shop in Bo’Ness lost out on an afternoon’s trading on Saturday as it closed to make essential repairs.
Pebbles co-owner Val Trotter said: “Luckily no one was hurt but we had to close the shop until the remaining guttering could be made safe. To lose out on a busy day’s trading at this time of year is difficult at the best of times but even more so when we have to make the most of every opportunity.”
Pebbles is celebrating its 5th year in business this year and marked the occasion with a catwalk show and party for 100 guests last month. As well as its store in Bo’Ness, which opened 2005, it has a store in Edinburgh, which opened 18 months ago.
