EDITORS CHOICE... SEIKO PREMIER KINETIC PERPETUAL: It may be continuing to focus on creating timepieces at the higher end of the spectrum with its Ananta range, last years Grand Seiko and this years impressive Credo minute repeater, but it is good to know that the Japanese watch manufacture is still dedicated to producing great watches at good prices. One of this years smartest additions to its Premier dress range is the Kinetic Perpetual 130th anniversary model, which is equipped with a Perpetual Calendar that will display the right date until 2100. Its all-black design, handsome big date, leather strap and push-button release clasp point to a far more expensive choice. But it is the sleep function that impresses most: when not on the wrist for 24 hours, the watch goes to sleep for up to four years. When worn again, the hands automatically re-set to the right time.
