Pippa Small launches diffusion line created by artisans in Afghanistan

Pippa Small has introduced a diffusion line that extends her partnership with Turquoise Mountain, a charity in Afghanistan capital Kabul that supports local craftsmen and women.

The Pippa Small Turquoise Mountain range will use lapis and tiger’s eye gems in gold-plated silver jewellery.

“In supporting Turquoise Mountain you are helping train and employ young women and men and give them a hope for the future,” Small says on her blog about the project.

“I recently returned from my fifth trip to Kabul creating a new collection with the craftsman at the Turquoise Mountain Charity. I was so excited to be working with the first group employed women graduates who have now joined the workshop. It was wonderful to see their pride in their work and hear what a help it is for them to be able to contribute to their families’ income, as well as going out to work and having creative input in the design process,” she adds.

A total of 73 pieces are being launched at prices as low as £140 for a Turquoise Mountain Ramz Ring with Tiger’s Eye, up to £715 for a Turquoise Mountain Lapis Taj Necklace.
