Platinum hallmarking rises 20.1% in mixed December 2015 report

Hallmarking figures compiled by Assay Office Birmingham for December 2015 show a decrease in the overall amount of items assayed compared to the same period in 2014. 

The number of units hallmarked by the four UK Assay Offices in December 2015 is down by 1.0% on December 2014.

Gold and palladium articles hallmarked were both down, with gold down 3.2% and palladium 5.5%.

Silver articles hallmarked were up 0.4% while platinum was up 20.1%.
