French detectives watched an attempt by a gang member allegedly connected to the robbery of £7.8 million worth of Kim Kardashian’s jewellery to sell a stolen piece onto a potential re-seller.
According to reports by French media, thanks to DNA found on a diamond-studded pendant, mislaid by one of the alleged perpetrators, authorities were able to witness the attempted sale.
The news comes as sixteen people were arrested by police in France in connection with the robbery of the £7.8 million worth of jewellery stolen from the celebrity.
Armed men stole the jewellery from the 36-year-old, including her 20 carat engagement ring in Paris last year.
The report from Le Point follows claims from experts that one of Kardashian’s £3.5m diamond rings that the Paris robbers stole is likely to be broken up and sold on, potentially ending up in Hatton Garden’s jewellery district.
