Concept store on lower-ground experiences ‘incredible’ first week.
Prestons of Bolton has reported “an incredible first week of business” since the opening of a Pandora shop-in-shop concept that spans an entire floor of the retailer’s store.
The launch of the Pandora in-store area was promoted on local radio stations, local newpapers and on posters throughout Bolton city centre.
The entire lower-ground floor of Prestons of Bolton has been transformed into a Pandora shop, with a stylised staircase leading down into the dedicated concept store. The retailer invited thousands of its customers to visit the Pandora floor when it opened with the promise of a glass of champagne whilst they viewed the ranges.
Prestons of Bolton group managing director Karl Massey said: “We are delighted with the immediate impact that the creation of the dedicated Pandora floor has had to our turnover and footfall. The feedback from customers has been amazing. There is a real wow factor as they walk down the staircase and get the first glimpse of the Pandora range.”
Store design is important to Prestons of Bolton, which has invested in a £1 million refit in 2006 and has recently installed a bar, called the Best Man’s Bar, offering complimentary glasses of champagne. The bar area also has a resident pianist playing live music.
Aside from the Pandora shop opening, Prestons of Bolton is gearing up for Christmas. The retailer is planning to host a Christmas grotto at which children can meet Santa Claus on weekends and Thursday evenings.
It is also in the final stages of completing its Chritsmas window, which will be unveiled to the public in the first week of December.
Prestons of Bolton claims to have the highest turnover of any jewellery store in the UK outside of London, and Massey said that the business is “enjoying the status and reputation of 30 years ago”. He added: “The environment, service levels and overall experience that we offer differentiates us from any other jewellery retail business.”
