As the nomination process for the Professional Jeweller Collections of the Year gathers pace, the editorial team is excited to announce the addition of a brand new category to this year’s initiative.
Due to the growth of Fairtrade gold in the jewellery industry this year, and the impact it has had on UK jewellery design, a new category dedicated to the move of ethically-made jewels is being introduced for the first time.
The category – Ethical Jewellery – will celebrate collections crafted in Fairtrade and fair-minded precious metals and those set with ethically sourced stones.
As the Collections of the Year 2015 awards aims to showcase the best ranges launched in the past 12 months, the popularity of ethical jewellery undoubtedly deserves to be recognised and celebrated.
Collections of the Year will present four finalists and one overall winner in the following categories:
Luxury Jewellery, Engagement Rings, Wedding Bands, Men’s Jewellery, Silver Jewellery, Fashion Jewellery, Pearl Jewellery, Charms and Beads, Emerging Designer and Ethical Jewellery.
The nominations process is open to all members of the industry, with retailers encouraged to highlight their bestselling collections of 2015 by nominating a range for each of the 10 categories. Similarly, brands and designer-makers are able to nominate their own collections and those launched by their peers.
