Jordan, who originates from Birmingham, joined Handbag.com in May 2012 where she oversaw daily news and features online, lifestyle news and press events.

She said: “I am thrilled to be joining the team at Professional Jeweller and look forward to meeting the retailers, manufacturers, buyers and designers who will develop my understanding of this fascinating industry.”

Jordan’s arrival marks the start of a number of exciting new initiatives at Professional Jeweller, as it enters its fourth year and cements its place as the UK jewellery industry’s leading trade title. She will be involved with a number of projects due to take place during 2014, including the Professional Jeweller Hot 100 and soon-to-be announced editorial projects.

Professional Jeweller editor Kathryn Bishop said: "When Professional Jeweller editor-in-chief Rachael Taylor and myself met Sarah Louise we knew that she would be a perfect fit with both the team here at the magazine and the UK jewellery industry. She has a keen interest in business news and design and – hailing from Birmingham – is looking forward to getting to know the firms that operate in the Jewellery Quarter, as well as the wider UK industry.

"We are pleased to have Sarah join us today as we look ahead to an exciting year of new projects, the fifth anniversary of the Professional Jeweller Hot 100 and seek to strengthen the peerless foundation upon which the magazine and website have been built under the eye of Rachael Taylor. We hope you will take a moment to say hello to Sarah Louise, who will join us at a number of upcoming events including the next CMJ buyers meeting in Birmingham this month."
