Professional Jeweller to launch WatchPro

New monthly watch magazine is dedicated solely to the watch trade.

Professional Jeweller will launch a new magazine in January dedicated to the watch trade.

WatchPro will be similar to Professional Jeweller in content with a mix of news, features and products. The magazine, which is the same weight as the main magazine and has its own front cover, will be stapled inside the January issue of Professional Jeweller and can be pulled out and read as a separate magazine.

Professional Jeweller editor Rachael Taylor, who will also be editing WatchPro, said: “Watches and jewellery are more often than not sold side by side but there are huge segments of the industry that are either only interested in watches or only interested in jewellery, by separating the two divisions of the industry out we can offer readers focused and more in-depth content.”

The first issue of the magazine will reflect the watch industry as a whole from high end to mid-market and fashion brands, with features on affordable luxury brand Frederique Constant, haute horlogerie masters MB&F, electronic ink digital watches and the new water-resistant standards being introduced across the industry.

WatchPro will be delivered free of charge each month with Professional Jeweller to its circulation of 5,500 named individuals. For existing subscribers there is no need to get an additional subscription to receive WatchPro. New subscribers can sign up for a free monthly subscription at professionaljeweller.com.

A new section of Professionaljeweller.com will be set up dedicated to WatchPro, allowing watch professionals quick access to watch-focused content online free of charge. Professionaljeweller.com launched in February 2010 and has gone from strength to strength throughout the year and now receives 36,000 visits per month and has a circulation of 4,800 for its daily news alerts.
