This new editorial offering will focus on UK jewellery manufacturing.
The team at Professional Jeweller magazine is pleased to announce the arrival of BenchPro – a brand new supplement magazine dedicated to the UK jewellery manufacturing industry and hardworking designer-makers at the bench.
The inaugural issue of BenchPro will appear inside the July 2014 issue of Professional Jeweller, featuring comment and opinion from master goldsmiths, CAD designers, jewellery-making tutors, workshop managers and gemstone experts.
Also included is an interview with intellectual property copyright expert Dids Macdonald from Anti Copying in Design (ACID), an analysis of the London Diamond Bourse’s new DiamondCheck device and a focus on glass-walled workshops on retailers’ premises.
The editorial team has also gone behind-the-scenes with London-based jewellery designer Laura Gravestock to discover the tools she can’t live without, and headed-up to Birmingham to speak to Charles Green apprentice Connor Hall.
Professional Jeweller editor Kathryn Bishop explained: "BenchPro is an exciting new addition to the Professional Jeweller portfolio, giving the designer-makers and individuals working behind-the-scenes their own magazine, dedicated to showcasing tools, gemstones, packaging, findings, design and training, alongside tips and trends from key voices in the jewellery manufacturing industry.
"We felt it was time to give these all-important elements and the jewellers themselves a spot in the limelight, as without them we would not be able to create the fine and fashion jewellery that the UK industry is renowned for."
BenchPro will be published quarterly, with the next edition due in October 2014. There is now a dedicated BenchPro tab on the Professional Jeweller website for all the latest news, click here to take a look.
