QVC raises nearly £300,000 in three hours for Breast Cancer Care

Video and ecommerce retailer, QVC, raised over £290,000 during its annual three-hour Breast Cancer Care charity extravaganza.

The 16th annual live fundraising show, which took place on Friday 2 October, saw Breast Cancer Care ambassador and QVC jewellery designer Lisa Snowdon man the phone lines as supporters donated in their droves – almost £100,000 an hour.

Those that tuned in for the live charity show were able to snap up a host of limited edition, perfectly pink products with the Breast Cancer Care celebrity charm bracelet and the Butler and Wilson heart & bow brooch proving the most popular.

QVC has already raised £5.3 million through specialist shows and internal employee initiatives for Breast Cancer Care since it started supporting the charity in 1999.

Viewers enjoyed a glittering evening of entertainment and special guest appearances including Lulu and Michelle Mone, plus a live performance from Britain’s Got Talent finalists, Jack Pack. The swing quartet closed the show with a performance of ‘Mack the Knife’, from forthcoming album ‘Jack Pack’, available to buy from QVC.
