Businesswoman invests £300,000 in new venture in West End of city.
Hamilton Park racecourse chief executive Vivien Kyles is set to open a new jewellery store in Glasgow called Arabesque.
The new store, which will open on Glasgow’s Byres Road on Friday will be an exclusive stockist of Canadian brand Mimi & Marge jewellery, said to have fans in the likes of Beyonce, Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas, Kate Hudson, Reese Witherspoon and Sex and the City stylist Patricia Field.
The businesswoman’s new venture will also stock world renowned brands such as Pandora, alongside Edinburgh-based pearl jewellery brand, Fussione.
Kyles, who has invested £300,000 in the venture, said her new boutique fills a gap in the Scottish market.
She said: "I love jewellery and wanted to create a store that sold unique, elegant pieces something that really stands out from the crowd in addition to the stylish international brands that have proven to be hugely popular in recent years."
"This is an entirely new venture for me, having advised so many start-up businesses in the past, its great to be starting my own from scratch. It’s very exciting. I believe in the concept and I am delighted with the location on Byres Road", she added.
Kyles, a qualified accountant and former chief executive of Livingston Football Club, said she has no plans to leave her current role as chief executive of Hamilton Park Racecourse.
