Designer describes move as the cherry on top of a successful year.
Emerging jewellery brand Rachel Galley has followed int he footsteps of designer Andrew Geoghegan in becoming a new member of the Houlden buying group.
Rachel Galley, founder of her eponymous brand, is said to be thrilled to be part of Houlden, having previously joined The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) buying group as a supplier in August.
This year, Galley has worked on a collaboration with Honda, while her Enkai cuff has been praised by the British Jewellers’ Association (BJA), with the wider Enkai collection becoming a “runaway success” at the numerous trade and retail shows that Galley has taken part in this year.
Galley said of her membership with Houlden: “I first met the Houlden Group at Spring Fair this year, where my jewellery was selected for their Designs Of Excellence tour.
“This was a fantastic opportunity for leading independents to have a taste of what the Rachel Galley brand has to offer, it was so popular I gained several stockists as a result.”
Stuart Laing, chief executive of the Houlden Group has described Galley as a superb young designer who he is pleased to be working with.
“Her designs are stylish, contemporary and intricate as well as being accessible and on trend which is what our members’ customers are looking for,” said Laing.
“We were so impressed with Rachel’s designs that we included two pieces from her collection in our Designs of Excellence tour this year and we are looking forward to working with her more next year at our suppliers’ exhibitions.”
Galley has said that becoming part of The CMJ and Houlden buying groups marks her transition from designer to brand. As part of her joining Houlden Group, she will showcase a solid gold range of her Memento Collection at Laings of Glasgow this Christmas.
