Swiss watch brand to produce 60 limited edition timepieces for awards
Raymond Weil has designed two new watches in sponsorship of the 2011 BRIT awards.
The Swiss watch brand has created 60 limited edition watches, to be gifted to performers and award winners at the BRITs ceremony on February 15. Versions of the designs will be available to buy from Raymond Weil retailers at a later date.
The gent’s watch – named the BRIT Awards Men’s Freelancer – has been designed with "stylish minimalism" in mind, and features a 42mm handcrafted steel case, a chronograph movement, sapphire crystals and a black leather strap. The women’s Noemia watch has a smaller 32mm case, is set with 72 diamonds and has a black mother of pearl dial. Both the gent’s and women’s watches are engraved with this yearʼs BRIT Awards logo and an individual serial number.
Laurie Milne, marketing director at Raymond Weil UK, described the continued partnership between the brand and the awards: "We are delighted to continue our partnership with the BRIT awards, which has now run for four consecutive years. Raymond Weil is honoured to once again work with the BRIT awards in rewarding musical excellence. We are especially delighted to be launching the Menʼs and Womenʼs limited edition watches that mark such an important occasion in the music industry calendar."
The brand has been involved in various aspects of the music industry for more than 30 years, with watches produced for the BRIT awards previously. They have sponsored the MTV Europe Music awards and have designed timepieces in collaboration with singers Jay Kay and Craig David. Brand ambassadors also include the Sugababes, Katherine Jenkins and Leona Lewis.
