RCA names jewellery and metalwork awards winners

Theo Fennell to showcase graduates’ work at London flagship store.

The Royal College of Art (RCA) held its ninth graduate awards ceremony last week with five winners selected by a judging panel for their standout jewellery designs and metalwork.

The Theo Fennell-sponsored graduate awards took at the RCA itself. A panel of judges including Theo Fennell himself, Vogue jewellery editor Carol Woolton and Stephen Bayley selected the winners, who were named as follows:

Winner of the Overall Excellence award: Sofie Boons
Winner of Best Work in Silver: James Stoklund
Winner of Best Work in Jewelley: Danyi Zhu
Highly Commended: Thahoura Mona Hadinejad and Kai Utzon-Frank

The winning designers’ work can be seen at the RCA Graduate Show which runs until Sunday June 30 at the RCA Dyson Building in Battersea, London, with free admission.

All five winners scooped cash prizes and each received a hand-made engraved silver Pavilion dish by Theo Fennell. Fennell will also showcase the winners’ work at his flagship jewellery store on London’s Fulham Road in October.
