Stockists report uplift on 2011 figures and direct sales up 20%.
Clogau Gold has reported that 2012 was its best festive trading period to date, with sales of the jewellery through independent retail partners up 30% year on year in December.
The Welsh jewellery brand said that November and December were consecutive record-breaking months with retail partners reporting strong sales of the brand in the lead up to Christmas.
Eleanor Pyke of Clogau Gold stockist Pykes Jewellers said: “Our figures post Christmas 2012 show a significant increase in turnover with Clogau compared with last Christmas, which is a result we are really pleased with. All the shops have done well with the brand.”
Clogau Gold said that in December its direct sales were up 20%, supported heavily by online sales, and its sales through UK buying groups increased 80%. In late 2012 Clogau Gold launched a corporate gifting service, creating jewellery gifts for UK businesses.
The jewellery brand had advertised heavily in the run up to Christmas with a nine-week TV campaign showing on ITV Wales and Granada.
As part of its festive marketing campaign Clogau Gold ran a competition that asked consumers to enter online at Clogau’s website or at one of its retail partners’ stores. The brand said that this led to an immediate uplift in traffic to its site and culminated in the brand capturing data from more than 14,000 entrants.
Clogau Gold will launch its SS13 Fairytale jewellery packaging and point of sale material at The Jewellery Show in Birmingham next month.
