Glasgow retailer Rox has reopened its store in the city’s Argyll Arcade after a £1 million expansion.

The revamp has quadrupled the size of the boutique, which was the mini chain’s first shop and opened in 2002. The floorspace at the store now measures 4,500 sq ft, spread across two floors, and includes a private shopping area on the upper floor of the store called The Thrill Room to host private events and cater for shoppers looking for diamonds and higher-priced items.

Rox co-owner Kyron Keogh said: “As a brand we are determined to push the boundaries and we have gone all out with the expansion of our Argyll Arcade flagship branch to provide our customers with an unrivalled shopping experience. It is completely unique in the jewellery market and at over 4,500 sqm we believe we are now the biggest jewellery store in the country.”

The new store is in the same location as the original Rox Argyll Arcade shop but has spread out to take over the unit next door that was previously occupied by sister diamond specialist retailer Lewis Grant which has now moved to another unit within the Argyll Arcade. The new Rox store also spread upwards, taking over 2,500 sq ft of additional property to house its Thrill Room.

The Thrill Room has been finished to a high standard with mirrored walls and ceilings, a crystal chandelier and a film projector that casts classic movies such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s onto the walls of the room. The room also has a Moet-sponsored bar where shoppers can enjoy a glass of champagne whilst perusing the retailer’s selection of diamond jewellery.
