£50k web investment pays off as Rox wins Scottish retail award.

Scottish jewellery retailer Rox has triumphed at the Scottish Retail Excellence Awards for the second year running.

Rox was presented with the award for Small/Medium Online Retailer of the Year at the ceremony last week. At the same awards last year the retailer picked up the prize for Independent Retailer of the Year.

Rox co-owner Kyron Keogh said: “Being recognised by the industry for the second year running is a real honour and we are absolutely thrilled. Online retail is extremely important to our business and we have heavily invested to ensure that our customers experience the same first class service online as they do in stores.”

Online sales at Rox have soared in 2010, up 38 percent on the previous year, and now account for 15 percent of the retailer’s annual turnover.

Earlier this year Rox spent £50,000 on revamping its site to improve functionality and ease of navigation. The site, Rox.co.uk, receives 74,000 visits and achieves 11 million page impressions.

Keogh and business partner Grant Mitchell were honoured this year in Professional Jeweller’s Hot 100 in the Retail Stars section.
