Rudells gifts 75 teddy bears to children’s ward

Retailer sends gifts as it celebrates its 75th anniversary.

Wolverhampton jeweller Rudells has gifted 75 teddy bears to a children’s hospital ward in the city, as the store celebrates its 75th anniversary.

Rudells, which also runs a store in Harborne, Birmingham, gifted its own mascot teddies – known as Benny Bear – to the children’s unit at Wolverhampton’s New Cross Hospital.

The retailer has long supported several charitable causes. The donation of the bears came after a conversation with a customer who works on the children’s outpatient ward at New Cross hospital.

Rudells store manager, Gary Jones and sales manager Glenn Jenkinson made the presentation to the managers and staff of the children’s unit.

Mandi Rogers, the unit’s ward sister, said: “When Rudells approached us with this excellent proposal we were delighted to accept their offer. Benny Bear brought so many smiles to the faces of many of the children on our unit and we can’t thank Rudells enough for their kindness."

The Benny Bear mascot is even said to have his own Facebook page where clients can follow his travels and exploits.
