Sales double at W Bruford as it embraces fashion

Opening of fashion-focused boutiques bolsters Eastbourne jeweller.

Sales at Eastbourne jewellery business W Bruford have doubled in the past two years after the retailer opened two stores focusing on fashion-forward jewellery.

The W Bruford business is now split into two factions with main store W Bruford in Eastbourne selling fine jewellery and watch brands such as Rolex, Breitling and TAG Heuer, and new stores Inspired by Brufords in Eastbourne and Brighton stocking branded jewellery such as Thomas Sabo, Hot Diamonds and Tresor Paris.

The first Inspired by Brufords store opened in Eastbounre in 2009 with the Brighton store following soon after. The jewellery business has also set up an online retail site for Inspired by Brufords.

W Bruford managing director Ashley Push said that the strategy of splitting the business into two retail fascias allows the business to focus on both ends of the market without compromising. He added: “It is a good opportunity to increase turnover by working with these up-and-coming brands.”
