Sarah Ho gets personal for couture brand launch

SHO London creative director introduces her first eponymous line.

Sarah Ho, creative director for jewellery brand SHO Jewellery, has unveiled the first design of a new range of couture jewellery that she will market under her own name.  

The one-off piece is a colourful necklace and earring set featuring a refreshingly light-coloured palateof pastel hued berels and diamonds. Ho is hoping to sell the necklace to a private client, but will also offer this luxury service of one-off designs to retailers. 

It is clear that Ho is setting about building a luxury lifestyle brand. The designer has now extended her reach beyond the world of jewels to experiment with scraf design. The first line of scarves has been created and she plans to sell them through her website and retailers and will release a new scarf for each collection SHO delivers.

The London-based designer has been ramping up her jewellery business, and her own personal brand this year with two key jewellery design collaborations. The first collaboration, which was announced in February, was a collaboration with Brown & Newirth on a designer bridal range. The collection of rings is available in 18ct yellow or white gold, or platinum set with diamonds.

Ho followed this collaboration with another with London retailer PureJewels. She created a pair of earrings for its Platinum Heritage Collection that is based on the lotus flower. Three design is made from finely curved platinum origami petals set with diamonds. She used delicately coloured pink sapphires to represent water droplets and to add a splash of colour and a beautiful pink pearl at the centre of each earring in the set is the focal point that links each element.

The Sarah Ho Couture collection can be viewed at SHO’s stand at IJL until Wednesday.
