Goldsmith to design for PureJewels’ 2011 luxury collection
Goldsmith and gemmologist Sarah Ho has accepted an invitation to design for PureJewels’ 2011 Platinum Heritage Collection.
Ho – who is know for her own jewellery collection SHO Fine Jewellery – will join last year’s designers including Katie Rowland and Cindy Dennis Mangan. She will create a one-off piece for the collection, which will be on show at the PureJewels store on Green Street, east London.
The Platinum Heritage Collection was founded in 2010 and saw an inspired collection of pendants, earrings and necklaces designed and made in platinum, set with precious stones. Ho, who was born in Hong Kong and whose jewellery style reflects ‘east-meets-west’, will be the seventh designer involved in the collection
On joining the project, Ho said: "This will be our first platinum collection and working with Jayant [PureJewels brand manager] and the team will help us grow stronger and also create a beautiful piece that we hope they will be proud of and the press will love.” She added: “Writers express themselves through words. I express myself through my jewellery.”
Ho has several accolades, having been named one of 2010’s Trendsetters in the Professional Jeweller Hot 100 and winning both the Italian Jewellery Awards ‘Best Young UK Jewellery Designer’ award and Coutts ‘New Jeweller Award’ in 2009.
“Like PureJewels, Sarah Ho has embarked on a great adventure to build a brand name” said Jayant Raniga. “She is one of the rising stars of our industry in the UK and we are delighted that she has come onboard with the Platinum Heritage Collection and that she is the very first designer to accept our invitation [in 2011]" he added.
The names of the other five designers due to participate in this year’s Platinum Heritage Collection will be announced in the coming weeks. The 2011 collection will be launched at a special event during London Jewellery Week in June.
