Sima Vaziry to speak on the subject of gaining design inspiration.
The second London Jewellery Meetup takes place tonight at the Sir Christoper Hatton pub in Hatton Garden, with a talk hosted by jewellery designer Sima Vaziry.
The monthly meetup event offers emerging and established designers, brands, retailers and those working in the jewellery industry a chance to meet, network and share ideas and advice.
The first London Jewellery Meetup took place last month with more than 70 guests stopping by the evening’s meetup to heard guest speakers Shaun Leane and network over drinks.
Tonight’s meetup will include networking and a talk hosted by designer Sima Vaziry. She will talk on the subject of Gaining Inspirations for Your Designs, sharing her story as a graphic designer-turned-jeweller and how her life experiences have impacted her style as a jeweller.
Vaziry is inspired by her Persian and Afghan heritage and her work has been recognised by the British Museum for whom she has created commercial jewellery collections. She presently works from a studio in Clerkenwell, close to Hatton Garden, and continues to make collections for private clients and the British Museum. She also teaches at London Jewellery School and hosts regular talks around London.
Those interested in attending tonight’s London Jewellery Meetup can register for free online, via the Meetup webpage. The evening will take place downstairs at the Sir Christopher Hatton on June 25, from 6.30pm.
