Sho Jewellery has teamed up with Swarovski to create a crystal-encrusted elephant to raise money for endangered Asian elephants.

Sho creative director Sarah Ho was one of 260 artists, celebrities and designers to decorate a 1.4m-high fibre glass elephant for charity World Land Trust initiative The Elephant Parade. The elephants will be on display in London between May and July before being auctioned off at Sotheby’s.

Ho choose to paint her elephant purple and cover it in Swarovski crystals on one side and paint a skeleton on the other to demonstrate the fragility of the Asian elephant. She has named her creation Pearly Queen.

Ho said: “This project is a great opportunity to merge the world of art and conservation and use our creative skills to spread the word and protect the Asian elephants in a fun and interactive way.”
