SHOWCASE: Mikimoto blooms for spring

Blossoms tumble from the ear with tsavorite garnets and Akoya pearls.

These vibrant Pearl Garden drop earrings are part of Mikimoto’s Inspiration collection for 2014, ticking several trend boxes in one go with a floral theme, a hint of Pantone’s Colour of the Year with the use of vibrant purple gems and tropical colour clashing for good measure.

The one-of-a-kind earrings have been handmade in Japan and are set with Mikimoto white Akoya cultured pearls surrounded by blooms of diamonds totalling 3.62ct.

Tumbling pink and purple sapphire-set blossoms fall from the ear, complemented by leaves of tsavorite garnet. Spring might be just around the corner for us UK folk, but it has certainly bloomed for the haute jewellery houses.
