Vashi.com research predicts top three engagement ring choices in 2015.

A new survey by diamond jewellery e-tailer Vashi.com reveals that women getting married in 2015 are likely to favour a simple, yet sophisticated solitaire over any other engagement ring style.

The research suggests actress Keira Knightley’s modest platinum band with a round-cut solitaire diamond is the ideal choice of 51% of future brides, closely followed by a cushion-cut diamond three-stone ring and an antique-style ring like Kate Middleton’s, possibly containing both diamonds and sapphires.

Of the 1,000 women surveyed Vashi.com discovered that 65% of women would prefer a diamond over any other gemstones, with 80% admitting a ‘medium-sized’ diamond is the ideal size.

Other insights gleaned from the research suggest 40% of women opt for a round-cut diamond over any other shape.

As a result of the research, Vashi.com have created three engagement ring designs that reflect the respondents’ most popular choices

Vashi.com chief executive officer Vashi Dominguez explains: “Keira is a style icon and she has been instrumental in moving trends away from showier rings to designs which are much simpler and more sophisticated."

Dominguez continues: "The results from our brides’ poll are very clear: bling most definitely isn’t in. I think most British women will be very comfortable with the idea that their ‘perfect’ engagement ring is very similar to Keira Knightley’s.”
