Glasses retailer Specsavers has released the names of their finalist for the Specsavers Everywoman in Retail Awards 2010 with two jewellers in the running.

Kate Watkin, Director of Lebeado has made it to the finals in the Entrepreneur Of The Year category after launching her make-your-own jewellery shop in 2007 with her mother. She describes Lebeado as a ‘sweet shop of delights’ where customers can come to make their own jewellery or commission bead artists to design a bespoke piece from wedding gowns to costume jewellery. Kate has ensured her company’s success through hard work and thriving on her passion for the business. Opening up a store in London’s Westfield is a key highlight. Despite the long hours, stress and hard work, she is thrilled to have a store in one of London’s premier shopping centres.

Nominated in the Star of the Future category is managing director of Westwood Rocks, Lauren Westwood. Discovering her love of jewellery whilst living in the Middle East as a child, Lauren quickly turned her passion into a career when she turned 18, selling at exhibitions around the South East and Midlands. Her products were so popular that she decided to open a store which quickly expanded into five stores over the following five years. She has recently strengthened the management team and increased marketing campaigns in order to expand the business. Lauren has been extremely hands on in every aspect of the business since its inception from the website content to recruiting new staff.
