Spinning Jewelry hits 300 stockists in first year

Distributor DMJ said that advertising the Spinning Jewelry brand heavily has helped it to gain recognition in the market rapidly.

Spinning Jewelry has signed 300 stockists since it launched in the UK in March last year.

The rapid growth of the brand, which is distributed by DMJ in the UK, has been bolstered by the stacking jewellery phenomenon that has helped many retailers survive the downturn as well as an aggressive advertising campaign.

DMJ managing director Darren McCormick said: “We advertise more than anyone in the business.”

Despite a successful year for the brand in the UK, McCormick said that he won’t take the brand down the same route as competitor Pandora by opening standalone Spinning Jewelry stores. McCormick said: “I’d like to have stores but I have to look after independent retailers, not give them more competition.”

McCormick said he will continue to grow Spinning Jewelry and would like to achieve 700 stockists in the UK, but said that he doesn’t expect to reach this target until at least 2014.
