Swarovski launches activity tracking jewellery

Fashion jewellery brand Swarovski has officially launched its collection of activity tracking jewellery.

Joining forces with Misfit, the California-based leader in tracking technology products, the new collection by Swarovski combines its iconic sparkle style with functionality.

To celebrate the launch of its activity tracking jewellery, Swarovski hosted a ‘Voga’ class for consumer and trade press to exercise and experiment with the new jewellery.

At first glance, the pieces appear as merely modern and contemporary jewellery. However, the large faceted crystal, the centerpiece of the entire collection (as seen modeled above by brand muse Miranda Kerr), is much more than a sparkling eye-catcher, it is an ‘Activity Tracking Crystal’ embedded with Misfit’s expert tracking technology.

Swarovski’s activity tracking jewellery measures steps, burned calories, distance and even sleep quality, and synchronizes wirelessly with the wearer’s smartphone. With a simple tap, the Activity Tracking Crystal lights up to indicate not only the time but also the status of activity accomplished.

Creative director, Nathalie Colin, says: “With the Swarovski Activity Tracking Jewellery collection, we were able to bring our strong jewellery styling point of view, developing versatile pieces which can work with this very practical device to really address modern and multifaceted women.”
