Four collections launched, set to feature in latest James Bond movie.
Swarovski and Stephen Webster have teamed up to create a jewellery collection called Skyfall, inspired by the upcoming James Bond movie of the same name.
The brand and the James Bond franchise have worked together for 35 years and for the latest feature film the brand has provided everything from the jewellery collections to the furniture and lighting featured in the scenes.
Webster has designed four collections of jewellery for Swarovski to “encapsulate all the movie magic of James Bond’s latest adventure”.
The collectons are Love Knot, Black Bamboo, Heat Seeker and Queen Cobra, referencing their namesakes and also playing on a number of signature Webster designs such as double finger rings and entwined pendants.
He said of the collections: “Without question, collaborating with Swarovski on the jewellery for Skyfall has been exciting from the word go.
“The themes in the film seem to fit perfectly with the design aesthetic of the jewellery I create, and the many creative meetings at Pinewood Studios between Swarovski, ourselves and the Bond team have only added to our enthusiasm for the project. We can’t wait to see the jewels, shaken not stirred within the movie.”
The lead actress in the film, Berenice Marlohe, plays the character of Severine and will wear selected items from the Skyfall collection in the movie.
The Love Knot collection features both black and clear crystals in Swarovski’s Pointiage setting, its own hand-set technique that is said to provide a unique sparkle and increased sophistication.
The Black Bamboo collection includes a 7cm long pair of drop earrings while the hero ring from the Heat Seeker theme has a striking design that appears like a open cross.
Finally the Queen Cobra line plays with serpentine shapes with red crystals used to pick out the snake’s eyes, while apples represent forbidden fruit.
The collection will launch in-store in mid-October.
A release from the brand said: “The Skyfall collection provides all the aura of the world of James Bond and the ever-alluring Bond Girls, while once again illustrating Swarovski’s exploration into the infinite possibilities of crystal.
“Through Stephen Webster’s creative vision, Skyfall has been interpreted into charismatic jewellery pieces. As a premium gift or as a singular treat for oneself, any item of this exclusively designed collection is destined to be met with esteemed success.”
