Online diamond retailer, TheDiamondStore.co.uk, now offers consumers the opportunity to propose with a ‘spy camera’ engagement ring box.
The device, dubbed the ‘Ring Cam’, was invented by five friends in Michigan for a university project. Now, the jewellery box has made its way to England for the very first time, promising proposers the opportunity to have that special moment captured forever. Currently The Diamond Store is the only jeweller in London able to offer this box to consumers.
The Ring Cam, which comes with an inbuilt HD camera and microphone, is free to hire but a £200 deposit is required.
The device can record up to 90 minutes of footage. Once the proposal, and the footage, is complete, the consumer can send the box back to The Diamond Store, where the company will edit the video professionally and send the finished film back to the couple.
Users order the ring cam online and select a day for it to arrive. The customer then has three weeks to return the device. They are under no obligation to buy the ring from the retailer.
The Ring Cam also comes with a 4GB memory card and a USB port so the footage can be downloaded easily after the event.
The Diamond Store has written an article on its website offering proposers ‘top tips’ for using the Ring Cam, alongside all the vital information needed for consumers to seamlessly record the special moment.
