British jewellery designer Theo Fennell will continue to support Central Saint Martin’s by exhibiting rings designed by four students.
Theo Fennell is passionate about promoting and nurturing young talent, and actively supports the future of the British jewellery and silversmithing industries through its annual young designers and jewellers programme, ‘Gilded Youth’.
As part of this initiative, Theo Fennell is the main sponsor of Central Saint Martin’s BA Jewellery Degree Show. In December 2014, Theo Fennell presented four students in their final year of Central Saint Martin’s BA Jewellery course with four stones: an ideal cushion cut Forevermark diamond, a sugarloaf cabochon sapphire, a cushion cut pink sapphire and a black pearl. He then set them the challenge of conceiving a ring to incorporate one of the four stones.
The four designers and ring they had to work with are as follows:
Evie Armstrong-Clarke: Ideal cushion cut Forevermark diamond
Hoonik Chang: Sugar loaf cabochon sapphire
Rosie Greener: Square cushion cut pink sapphire
Dennis Song: Black pearl (commended)
The four winning students’ designs have now been made up by the award-winning team of craftsmen at Theo Fennell’s Fulham Road workshop, with the students working closely to see the creation from start to finish,
The final pieces will be available for the public to admire (and buy) in Theo Fennell’s Fulham Road flagship store for one month from Monday May 16.
