Brand seeking key locations; continuing focus on wholesale partners.
Thomas Sabo is set to open a number of new owned and operated stores in the UK this year, says its new managing director Jonathan Crossick.
The jewellery brand current operates a single franchise store in Cambridge, while its other UK standalones in cities including Reading, Leeds, Cardiff and London, are wholly owned and operated. It plans to open further own-brand stores this year, with a focus on key retail locations that will be suited to the brand’s development plans.
Crossick, the company’s new UK managing director, said that while Thomas Sabo hopes to increase its own stores it will also maintain a focus on its wholesale partners in the UK and will seek new doors at a selective level, working with businesses that understand the direction of the brand with its charms, silver jewellery and watch collection.
Crossick joined Thomas Sabo UK in April having worked for several years at Case, a company that run luxury handbags and luggage sections in UK department store incuding Harrods and.
He has taken over the role of Harald Winzer, who has been promoted to European chief executive. A new head of retail, Leo Liu, has also joined the company’s UK team.
Thomas Sabo is set to launch its AW13 collections later this month and is planning to update its watch collection with eight new styles. It will also re-launch its current watch collection in October to better reflect the style of the Thomas Sabo brand.
