Brand creates four commemorative beads as part of World Tour.
Trollbeads will embark on a mini tour of the UK this month, with the launch of four commemorative beads specially designed to celebrate the diverse traditions and culture of the UK – and only available within the UK.
The UK World Tour Collection is part of Trollbeads World Tour concept which was launched in Denmark in September 2010. The World Tour "visits" selected nations around the globe, introducing four Trollbeads charm beads specifically designed to capture each country’s history and culture.
To date the tour has visited Denmark, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, and Africa and this month will focus on the UK, with four new beads which will only be available to buy within the British Isles.
Taking a colour palette of red, white and blue, reminiscent of the Union Flag, Trollbeads originator Lise Aagaard has designed the glass UK Colours bead. In sterling silver, designer Martin Brun has created an intricate English Tea Party bead, said to capture "the quintessential spirit of England" with a playful take on the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland.
For Wales, a bead depicting the traditional silver Love Spoons – symbolic of a life of health and happiness – reflects the love spoons traditionally carved by young Welsh men for their loved ones. For the Scots, a silver Celtic kilt bead has been produced, inspired by the celidh dances and Scottish pipers. Both have been created by Trollbeads’ Danish designer Soren Nielsen.
Prices range from £26 for the Italian Murano glass UK Colours bead to £47 for the silver English Tea Party. The collection of four beads costs £150. The new collection will be presented in special UK World Tour packaging.
