Retailer says that investment in web has led to business growth.

Shropshire jewellery retailer Anne Reeves Jewellery has doubled its turnover since setting up an online arm.

The company, which specialises in handcrafted silver jewellery, reported that sales doubled in 2012 following the launch of annreevesjewellery.co.uk.

The website has recently been upgraded and founder Ann Reeves said that the site is "really paying dividends". The retailer has plans to hire another member of staff to support growth and said that through social media campaigns it is attracting a "growing community of fans online".

Reeves added: "The internet plays a vital role in my business because as well as opening up new opportunities, the flexibility and control it brings have enabled me to achieve a positive work/life balance."

Anne Reeves Jewellery started out 10 years ago after Reeves started jewellery making as a hobby after leaving a career as a stationery sales rep when she had her children.
