Feast on new range that nods to still life paintings of food.
Alex Monroe has taken a turn towards baroque design themes in its latest collection, Banquet.
The new AW13 range, launched at the British brand’s headquarters in London yesterday, is dubbed "an elegant feast of jewellery".
The Banquet collection nods towards classical still life paintings of food and fruit, featuring a range of charm pendants, dainty bracelets and more opulent rings and earrings. Designs include pomegranate pendants studded with tiny rubies to mimic the fruit’s seeds, baroque leaf-like rings and earrings and a quirky asparagus bundle pendant. Parrots also feature throughout the collection, continuing Alex Monroe’s use of bird motifs.
As part of the launch the brand has created a preview film, encompassing the baroque and still life themes with candles, rich red clothing and fruit, while showcasing some of the finer rings and pendants in the collection.
